Question:
The BFG Krawler tire will be coming out the middle of this month. It looks like they will be available either fully-treaded or partially-treaded with the center being left for the user to cut himself.

Which model would you buy?

Choices:
Treaded - I'm lazy and trust their R&D work
Partially - Treaded - Bring on the hot knife!

For me I would have to say it depends on the tread pattern that they offer, there is a good chance that I would cut my own tires.

I chose treaded because I don't have a clue about treading my own tires. But I do think it is a cool idea to also sell partially treaded.

Lowriders are for guys who can't get it up!!

I also chose treaded. I kinda dig the tread that they have on some of the comp buggies. If its something like that it would work for me.

Give me a few more years of experience and I'll be wanting a clean canvas of rubber to work with.

I fear there will be many wasted "partially" treaded Krawlers out there because cool-man-kustom-offroader-guy will try to do his own pattern and screw it up. Either that or he'll think he's got a cool looking pattern that really doesn't work.

If I was going to buy a set, I'd get the treaded ones. It seems to me BFG did alot of homework on the rockcrawling scene and developed what they think is the ultimate rock crawling tire. Is it? That remains to be seen.

Partially treaded would be the way to go for us. At least on our XJ it would be. I'm not quite sure about my TJ.

Now that's a cool new feature TX! I voted, and instantly saw the results Big Grin. I'll take the treaded tires here. I've been happy with my BFG MT's, and it does seem they did a lot of homework when developing these new tires. I do think it's good they are offering both versions.
Just send my set (33's please!) to the same addy you sent the mug and decals! I'll test 'em out at the Texas Crawl II and let you know. Butch has moved up to 35's so it's safe to send them to his shop. Wink

The only reason I would buy partially treaded is to use on a restoration of an old military rig. They usually had massive center strip on their tires so I would leave the center strip intact and just sipe it.

Got the precut and added a bit more sipping to them for good measure.
