I have a warn HS9500i that is about 3 years old, that gets infrequent use. The problem that I have, is that when I go to use the winch, it does not activate unless I hold the switch on (in or out) and tap the side of the motor casing with a rubber mallet. What should I concentrate on before I disassemble the winch; the relays, motor, or brushes ? I would send it back to Warn for warrenty work, but I drilled a 1/4" hole into the relay housing for an in cab remote setup, I I don't know if that voids the warrenty, and don't want to get charged any more than necassary.
