I did the turn key diagnostic check when I noticed my check engine light was on. It gave me the code for cylinder 3 misfire. My jeep sounds fine and runs good. How could I solve this problem without taking it to the dealer. I have already checked the gaps in all o the sparkplugs and cleand them off. What is my next step? Thanks!!!

How are the plug wires and how many miles do you have? What year/model Jeep do you have? I can't recall exactly how many starts it takes but at about 80 or so if no problems occur, the computer will clear the error or you can disconnect the battery for several minutes and clear it yourself. Then you can see if the error comes back and if so, you'll have to track the problem down.

I would give it a full tune up. plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and some fuel injector cleaner in the gas. Do that then unhook the battery and reset the computer.
