if you put a locker n the 35 it's more likly to break. save your pennies and get a d44 with a e-locer of some sort and 4.56's then swap it in you'll be much happier in the log run.
I'm running aussies front and rear and am pretty happy with them, but when the 8.8 goes in its have a e-locker in it then once the money tree in the backyard takes root i'll put a e-locker in the front 44 as well.
THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS!!

Been running a Detroit in my D35 for the past 2 years... yes I have broken but no mre than other guys running limited slips. Detroit is probably the best rear locker hands down, strong and reliable.

I have 35c with an ARB. Got 4.11 gears and 33" swampers. So far I have destroyed the ARB broke the cross shaft in 3 pieces. At least 6 u-joints and the Yoke on the SYE but as hard as I try the dang axels shafts haven't broke. I really like the selectable locker. In the rear end

I've got a "no slip" in mine. It's been there for about 20K miles and some hard wheeling trips. Works great! I agree with SprungTJ don't put a lot of money in the 35. Get a cheap locker and go play.

Since he doesnt want a full time locker, most likely a welded rear, even though the cheapest way, would probably not be practicial for you on the street.

Yes! It will eat the tires faster and the tighter you turn the faster it will eat them. I believe on the YJ forum someone has a super 35 kit for sale. Personally I wouldn't put the $ into the 35. Here's an idea if you have 5 on 4.5 find an 8.8 out of an explorer this way you get a better rearend with rear disc's at the same time. Happy building!

I will stand by the OX's 'till my death. Cable activated, no solenoids blowing out, no air hoses pinched. You lift up on the knob, push the lever forward and youre locked. If any of you have ever held or seen an OX prior to install, you know they are built tough as hell. If you can, get a 44 and an Ox....you only cry once when you buy the best.

Oh yeah... and like an E-locker or ARB, they are not full time, so there wont be unecessary wear on your tires during daily travel.

I had aussie lockers, the rear was way to loud in my 44. I thought something was wrong, because it was much louder then a loc rite due to material, and casting differences. The front was somewhat quiet, but when i would turn my wheels full lock on occasion, the locker would lock itself, and it would be hell applying torque to the front end trying to make it unlock. I know people with loc rites with better luck.

I've been running an Aussie for a several months now in a D30. It's been flawless thus far. Just a slight clicking noise at full turn. I'd recommend it. I found mine used for $170 on this site.
