ok for awhile i was set on buying a Golen 4.6 stroker. then i decided to build it with a MASS amount of info, i got all my parts and sources down. then i come across thisand now im stumped again. if i buy this engine it comes w/a 3 yr warranty and is only 350 more than my project would be. thats 350 spent on no driving to the machine shops, buying, waiting, returning, and building, with trial and ERROR. anyone have experiece with Titan Engine Co and whats your opinions on what you'd do?
not sure if this works but heres my lift of things that i'll have to do and the price click me

if your not in a rush i like the idea of doing it yourself. you'll know exactly what's in it and can fine tune to your preferences, making sure high end parts are used and installed correctly.

and as far as the warranty: shipping costs back and forth? covered by them or you?

i think they're, titan, into the drag race scene so i'd imagine they would have to take a beating to last through the warranty period...

good to see someone actually responds.. i dont really spend much time on this forum anymore because it just isnt what it used to be.. no one really seems very knowledeable here.. ive pretty much decided to build it up myself. i just bought a 95 jeep grand cherokee 4.0HO head cast # 7120 on ebay for 56.00 complete. of course the shipping is 60.00 lol.. its from florida, im in cali... oh well. thats still cheaper than most that i've looked at. i get the valve cover and the complete head.. gives me time to port/polish it and do a complete head rebuild. then i can get my 98 rebuildable block for 200 and go from there.

I was in the same boat. I was going to build it myself. I brought the formula to a local engine builder (a friend of a friend) to see what he thought. I also needed him to do some machine work. In the end his assembly fee was so low, and came with a three year warrantee (unused after two years)that I chose to do that. I kept thinking that my warrantee was my wallet and the turn of the key. I was there for everything from the balancing, the porting and polishing of the head etc. It was delivered to my house, and I installed it myself.

I love the power and response of the 4.7.

Good luck

i must agree the board has been slow for a while but it was popular once so i have to keep checking back waiting for it to take off again...

planning on building my own (stoker) at some point. buying a used engine so i can drive mine in the meantime leaving lots of time for the build... it will be a great winter project.
