Finally i have been able to get the little jeep. It has been quite difficult because i live in Spain (sorry about my english) but finally a friend bought it in NYC when she was on holiday there and bring it to me. I´m quite dissappointed with the car: - Not enough power - Not proportional steering - Bad cuality plastics - Hard rubber wheels But i´m trying to improve it: - Cut the coils - Holes in the rims - ... And i´m now trying to change the electronics to have more power and proportional steering
haha thats awesome! good luck to you! looks like you're going all-out, look forward to seeing the final product!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1993 jeep grand cherokee. 4.5" RE lift, 5.5 in rear, custom fabbed rear triangulated 4link suspension. bald 33" bfg all terrains. custom length pro comp shocks. all exterior plastic trim removed via trail damage.
Welcome! Sorry you are disappointed in it. It must be clear that this is a $50-60 toy. This is not intended to be a super r/c to go play with the big boys that cost $400+
Finally i´ve let the car as it was: stock electronics. I´ll have to comform. As you say, it´s only a toy and can give a lot of fun as it is. and more with some modifications. In the photo you can also see my 1:1 car beside the jeep.
you need new gears and motors, and to get rid of that stock suspension, because it doesnt climb well at all with that stock stuff, if you do those things its another beast
hey marmech you got a problem with the stock suspension. cause what i go over it works fine for me. plus it could be that the springs hae worn out a little and gives it a little more flex.

ksully, yeah i find the stock susp is too easily tipped over, with my HOEG im going for a low low low center of gravity, i chopped my body even more and im going to replace and relocate the limit straps to tighten the susp down onto the body a bit
xjguy, you'd be surprised how well the Nylints perform. I used to have an attitude like your till I bought one. they are 2 completely different animals. Stock for stock, the Nylint will outperform the New Bright in just about every single category. Only thing I can think of is submersion? lol. When I submerged my New Bright's motors under muddy water, it had no devastating effect and still runs perfect to this day. I wouldn't dare try the same with my Nylint.
