Now that I've got my power and battery woes sorted (thanks!) I daresay I can start driving the LR3!
I've so far taken it rock crawling, through some wet grass and, yesterday, through some awfully deep snow.
But I keep seeing some rather good puddles and not being sure whether to go for it or not...
Can anybody advise some kind of perimiter to which I should stick when driving through water? For example, how far up the wheels should the water be before I bail out? Half?
Also, should I be thinking about waterproofing any components?
Thanks again!!

i dotn think that u should have to worry at all bnecause as you can see the circuit board is hidden, and the battery and everything will dry if wet, i tottaly submerged mine for about 3-5 minutes and it worked up untill i broek the frame in half, but if ur still worried, i wouldnt go any further than the top of the tires, bcuz if the circuit is gonna get wet the water is probably gonna have to come in from the top to get it, hope i helped
oh yeah and incase if you worried about it here is a forum that tells you how to water proof with detailed isntruction sand tons of pics, and you should tr ydoing a instant mash potatoe bog, if your worried about the wetness, bcuz when the flakes dry u can just blow them off with blow dryer
all you need to waterproof (cy) is a big baloon or if you are cheap like me lol a condom its true just put a baloon or condom over your electronics and hey presto instant waterproofing.make sure you seal tight were the wires exit and your done .

There are a few ways you can do this; by applying PVC tape or silicone to the joints, or i have chosen to use a plastic dip which is available in six different colours.

Dip the servo into the liquid, then slowly remove and allow to drip any access back into the pot. Hang up in a well ventalated area for around four hours to dry, then repeat if necessary.

Once it is dry you can remove the masking tape by trimming around the base of it with a exo knife and remove any other imperfections.

To help seal around the output shaft apply some grease and replace the horn.

Now for the receiver; All you need is a balloon, a cable tie and some silicone.

Connect your servo, etc, to the receiver and place inside the balloon.

To seal around the neck of the balloon, fix a cable tie in place tightly and then a small amount of silicone.

That it! Nice and easy. As for the ESC, it needs air to keep it cool so a balloon won't work. You could try putting it in a sealed box, but that takes up quite a bit of room. The best and easiest way is to buy a waterproof one!! Msonic have a good range of waterproof ESC and not too expensive.
