I have in my attic a new 1:6 jeep rockcrawler for my son for Christmas. Got it at Toys-r-us, which advertised it as having a 19.2v battery, but instead it has a 9.6v NiMH battery. Go figure? Here's the ad: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2339...er&parentPage=search
Target is now carrying a new 1:6 scale Land Rover with TWIN 19.2v batteries ... which I reckon would be more powerful and last longer. Goto http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-8/qid=1164903...UTF8&asin=B000I7G9LE for details. Which would be the better truck? Would the Land Rover crawl as well as the Jeep? |

For the model, me I would take it (((JEEP))) the body changes with more facilities.....they have the same base….one can cut the wings of JEEP and to make many modifications with this body, it is your choice!!.

I'm curious more about run time and power between the two battery setups. It seems that the chassis are gonna be about the same.

I was just curious, I have purchased the 1:6 from Toys R us and I thought it was going to be the 19.2 batt. also. I wonder if the 19.2 battery came after the 9.6 came out.
If so does the 19.2 fit into the 9.6? I have others that run on 7.0 but 9.6 fits and works too. please help... |

You can't use the 19.2V in place of the 9.6. It would likely damage the electronics.
Besides, I have the 19.2 in my Mercedes UPV SLR and the packs are a different size. Probably wouldn't hurt to hike the voltage to 10 or 11V but 19.2 is asking for trouble. You can't get the 19.2 Crawlers in the UK.. otherwise I would have definately got one. |

I have just bought two of the wrangler jeeps 1/6 for my sons and me! which come with the 9.6v Nicd as standard. The problem is they are useless. There I was bigging them up to my sons with great anticipation of their capabilities as expressed on the packaging and the boys were extremely excited about racing them out in the forest.
So off we go having charged them up as recommended the first two times for 8 hours only for them to go completely flat after 5 mins of easy use, not a 40 deg incline in site, great toy as long as you do not expect to be able to use it for any length of time, this really sucks!! I am going to contact New Bright but was wondering whether anyone could shed any light on this without having to spend shed loads on new gear. I do not think it is too much to expect the things to do as marketed for at least 15 mins do you?? By the way I am in the UK, thanks guys in anticipation of your help, Gary and two boys who have toys they can`t use!! |

without researching too much into it, as I have seen the Land Rover in Target also, it isn't advertised as a "Rock Crawler" which leads me to believe that the 4wd isn't locked in any way shape or form, meaning its not built to crawl. Its probably built for speed. The bigger wrangler, with its 9.6v doesn't quite need loads and loads of power because it isn't going to be racing around. Thats my take on it. I could be totally wrong. Or totally right
