Maybe this is the way they are stock but I want to fix it if not. When climbing over something high or crawling up something steep, the trailing axle shows no sign of power. I can drive up frontward or backward and only the leading axle has any noticeable power. Is this a path of least resistance thing? BTW, same with fresh battery.

Mine does the same thing. And it does it in reverse. I think its just because its some weak motors. If it was a higher voltage there might be enough to power both motors at the same rate at the same time, traction or not.

all the weight transfers to the rear axle, and there isn't enough torque to spin the tires. add a couple small weights (3/4 oz total) to each front wheel and it balances out a bit better

I run BBs in my tires it helps keep it on the ground but I would never add more weight to something the motor has to spin.
I'd rather have atleast the front pull instead of none pulling. - Jeff |

just shift it into 4-LO..
(that was a joke. no low gear for anyone confused by it) |

KiGrind,
Check out my post on wheel weights: http://rcboards.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/8401055751/m/8951074102 Though it would seem to make it harder to turn the wheels, since they are installed close to the center they have no noticable impact on torque. The solid footing you gain is well worth it. |

Have you tried to run BBs? I don't think I can anymore cause when I trimed my tires I put a few holes in it, minor holes but big enough for the BBs I had.
Basicly they just stay at the bottom rolling and you can just dumb some out if its too much or pour in if too little. I'll look into your weight stuff. - Jeff |

gearing is the only answer to this problem. There isn't enough torque in the motor to push the loaded axle. These things are much like real life Suzuki's.............no power unless you gear them down with dual cases ans low axle gears.

Your right, Suzuki's are cheap deals that get alone alright but you gotta put some money into before you have anything, cause with money you can make anything worth wheeling.

Yup, It's a Jeep thing, I'm still trying to understand. I'll put my Zuk up against your CJ anyday.
My point was that the NB's need gearing and nothing else will do. We have tried more battery power and it didn't work. We have tried different motors, but that isn't cost effective. Gearing in the answer, plain and simple. I've been doing this long enough to know what it takes to make a gutless POS rule the rocks. |

Time and place! :-) Is your stock? Because like I said, any vehicle can be trail worthy with enough cash.
Right now mine is not completly stock. Drivetrain prettymuch is. Changed a lot of steering stuff and beefed up the rear a little. Thats pretty much the only major things done. - Jeff |
