haha yea... my 4link is embarrasingly ghetto... but it works... lets see here...

i JBwelded little bent brackets i made to the axle on each side, and used a central screw on top of the axle for steering as n upper link. i just took some scrap threaded rod i had and etaped and zip tied eye hooks to the ends haha. i jbwelded door hinges to the sides for adjustability. and it can be an opposing 4link or just and upper 4link. took about an hour of work, and was cheap and easy to do with stuff i had lying around.

as for now, im hooked! couple buddies are into rc rockcrawling, that was my first inspiration, and the bug has bittne me. im going to convert my t-maxx to an electric "independantly solid axled" rockcrawler... ill put up a lik later as to what im talking about. saw ti done before and i think i can make it even better.
RC CRAWLING IS THA SHIZNIT!!

heres one at our new local play area. business park with a nice rocky water feature... next step: WATERPROOFING!! haha i E-taped the vent holes on the motors and took it in the water lol even with the cut tires is kinda floated and crawled on the rocks at the bottom. imma seal it all up and get some new tires for a t-maxx and mod them. those in combination with the 15.4volt imma do to it... it'll rip!

im planning on it. but either way im starting construction on my t-maxx to make it an "independant-solid axle" full out crawler, way more hardcore than this target ****. good to know you like the nylints better... but these have proportional throttle... which is a HUGE factor in rockcrawling if you know anything about it...

Yesterday I saw this "thing" at Toy's or Us,and asked the clerk about this Jeep.I had a remote car 20 years ago:the batteries were always down, and the motor not enough powerful. The clerk did not know this Jeep. So,is this worth $100.00cdn,or others "simili-jeep" are as good as this one?
Thank you for your expertise.

I just received one of these for xmas, although I asked for the Nylint. I'm tempted to just keep this one since it's half the price of the 1/6 Nylint, but I'm sure not quite as capable. Maybe I'll just keep this one for awhile, then pick up a Nylint too later on Smile

The manual for this one says the battery only lasts 15 mins under a full charge?!? Is that true? Seems like an awful short time of use for a 4-8 hour charge. What kind of battery life are you guys getting?

TIA

ill tell you all right now that the 1/6th scale nylint IS NOT CAPABLE. IS NOT DURABLE. yea it has lower gearing and softer tires and proportional steering and throttle. but my cousin got one for xmas and we broke it on the 3rd day of owning it. and all we did was a muddy hillclimb and mild rocks. i was following it everywhere it went (as well as i could with no steering due to water damage) and i wasnt lifting a tire over stuff he was getting hung up on. mike jones. you're WRONG! lol stick with the newbright people! i can twait for the 1/6th scale if they make it!!

Well I just got into rock crawling. Today got the new bright jeep for $55 on sale. In addition we picked up a 1:18 scale nylint. I am looking forward to running these (as soon as the batteries are charged) Smile

Here is a list of our RC...

- Traxxas Stamped (electric). In the middle of mods
- Associates highly mod buggy
- one jeep and hummer smaller monster trucks (bigger then 1:18 small then 1:6) 3 years old
- two small 4 wheel drive fast-lane trucks. Awsome for in door racing.

In winter, I don't drive the buggy or Ped Frown

Later.

The New Bright Rockcrawler 9.6v can take Tamiya 9.6v battery packs. Thgere is a connecter in the batt compartment. These batts can be bought for not much money from ebay. I got my 2400mAh Tamiya 9.6v for £7 (about $15) and it gives nearly an hours run time compared to the stock 600mAh battery. I am pretty sure there are versions with even longer run times...

I wouldn't charge that quick, unless I was doing it somewhere real cold. Heat kills batteries and 2400mAh chargers on a 600mAh battery is asking for quick battery death.

Hi All;

Having done some "full-size" off-roading in a Cherokee, I just had to buy the 1:6 Wrangler Rubicon along with the week's groceries when I saw it in the local Tesco.

(Minor) modding came naturally, and then I found this site by reading the sticker! Most mods have been dedicated to adding lights (another of my passions).

I'll see if I can add a photo or two.

I just worked out what I needed, then got it all off eBay. Basically a mixture of size and colour of LEDs.

I've attached a photo showing the headlights on (they only work going forwards and are the blue ones which can just be seen slightly outboard of the triple spots, above the twin driving lights), and its got reversing lights when going backwards. (I have got a vid of that, which I might be able to put on You-tube later.)
