I have a friend that claims he broke into the front axle and put a different set of gears from a smaller scale new bright Avalanche style rig in there. I have been reading what you guys said about such an act and you say it is impossible. are you sure you can't put two new gears in the axle, without re-locating the motor. Pleas help, i think my friend is a liar, and i don't want to have to pull the axles apart.

No one has said it was impossible, but it is complicated as the centerline to centerline relationship of the gears is fixed in the housing. I am in the process of making a new gear carrier plate that eliminates this problem, but I find it extremely unlikely that other gears would just "swap in", even from the same manufacturer. If it were my friend I'd call B.S. and make him show me. At LEAST see if his rig crawls slower/stronger. Sounds like a load to me, especially since he only "did" the front. It wouldn't drive right.
