At first i have to thank you for your mail-support, it's not to take for granted that great inventors *lol* answer to questions of newbies.

Yesterday i ordered the NB Rockcrawler at the otto.de mailorder, here kn germany there are only two dealers for this RC, Otto and Baur. In germany you have to pay 79,99€ for this nice toy.

I read all the thread by loulou because i only want to have one crawler - THE YELLOW CRAWLER! I brim over with enthusiasm for this car! I only thought "YES! Wanna have!" I'm very frightened of making the modifications, and i don't understand everything written by you all guys here. So it will bring up a lot of questions.

The main problem is - i'm not that professional manufacturer. okay, i've build my trial-actros-truck and my monstertruck, i'm tuning my mini-crushers, but only with buyable ready parts.

So loulou, i would like best to ask you what i have to pay to you that you make a compareable YELLOW CRAWLER for. But i think you'll understand it as an insult or you don't wanna do it for others. Man! I wish i was living in a DIY-store...or what i mailed you, i want to put your YELLOW CRAWLER on a copier, press "start" and here it is - my brandnew YELLOW CRAWLER, the one and only official YELLOW CRAWLER in Europe, isn't it a pleasure for you? :-P ;-)

greetings from germany,

Dennis

P.S.: Excuse my bad english, i hope you'll understand at least the half... ;-)

HELLO...MR. XBANDITOX…

Plant #1… ###########################

I strongly advise you the system of MR. FLAPDING and here why.

This system consists in installing new a GEAR and a new PINION in each differential, AND WITHOUT ANY PLASTIC CUT.

1= to remove You the third GEAR, that which couples on the pinion motor, and to place you new the GEAR.

2= to change You this pinion which is on the motor which comprises 10 teeth for one of 8 teeth.

The motors will have to be to change for more powerful, MR. GV280Z will advise you on the model.

You can install a second battery in parallel for a longer execution time.

I strongly advise you them (FLAPDING-SHOCK) which do the same work that my shock (TEX LONG STEM) which crosses it (hood) and which is more aesthetic.

You will very extremely have a crawler and with a reasonable speed. It will remain you to modify with your taste the body of your crawler. You could modify it so that it resembles ((YELLOW-CRAWLER))

Study all the topic of MR. FLAPDING, this will help you to make a choic :-)…

Plant #2… #############################

You could build one ((YELLOW-CRAWLER)) but work is not the same one.iTS MORE COMPLICATE

It is necessary to install a fourth GEAR in each differentials, this GEAR is of 34x10. 34 outside and 10 inside, this GEAR comes from a war-tank 7.2v from radio-shack, and in this war-tank, there are 2 motor 280 - 7.2v which are very powerful and they are compatible with the NEWBRIGHT. Can these GEAR be on sale in the stores of hobby ?

Then, it is necessary to raise the motor so that it adapts well on new the GEAR and to adjust it and then to fix firmly it.

With this system YELLOW-CRAWLER does not need two additional engines, this fourth GEAR gives him enough force additional.

I have to improve flexibility while cutting plastic close to the two axes so that these axes can rise higher.

The belts of limit (front/back) are used to retain the axes so that they do not move back, because the principle of the shocks standart of the NEWBRIGHT stopped this movement of retreat.

The tires standart of the crawler were to work again to make them softer.

The antenna is to install on a spring to make it more flexible.

One can install a second battery in parallel.

The body is to work again complete, the floor is to cut, to be able to lower the body as much as possible.

The cabin is made of rather solid plastic and to stick to epoxy and also with adhesive in stick.

Study all the topic LOULOU, this will help you to make a choice.

The modification of ((YELLOW-CRAWLER has to cost $15.00/$20.00 roughly to me :-)..

Thaaaaank yooouuuu!!! This is a great help for me. The last nights i searched for "howto's" to expand articulation, to cut the body. Today my New-Bright was delivered, i checked the box and the car, it drives well an climbed my track build of dj-cd-cases, 12"-cases and steering is okay, too. I'm happy that i don't want to use the car stock, because there are missing body-parts (one roof-light broken, turn signal lost), in defiance of "NIB" and not opened before, "made in china" - the answer for all my questions, but nothing new. Doesn't matter!

I'll make your mods step by step, i've got some ideas to modify the dogbones, but i want to know which flapding-parts you've installed finally into your YELLOW-CRAWLER, and dear Mr. Flapding, can you tell me the price including delivery to germany, if they're needed to my european YELLOW-CRAWLER-copy? (Maybe it becomes red...let's see in future...)

Loulou - have you cut the body in length to make it more narrow or does it only look so caused by view-angels?

---offtopic---

Question to all - Is there a 1:10 Ford Bronco (new Bronco) bodykit available in canada or the US? I can't find here in germany. I want to make my Dodge Ram Monstertruck become a Ford Bronco style mudracer...then this "construction site" is finished completely!

--------

Bye, thanks, and see you,

xbx

I strongly advise you the system of MR. FLAPDING for a crawler without cut of body and very powerful.

Similar to ((MIX-CRAWLER)) but without the cuts of body…
But with only one motor in each differential

Then if you have the taste to manufacture you a crawler in the stile of ((YELLOW-CRAWLER)) IT WILL BE ALWAYS TIME TO DO IT.

No problem. At times, looking at the body alone, I mistake it for a real rig!

Status-Logfile!!!

After some weeks full of trouble (car-crash, girlfriend gone...) i found time to make the first steps - the Tyre-Cut! It worked well, on two i've cutten a hole into the tyre, but i fixed them with silicone to glue. The typres are now very soft. I removed the spring of return (steering servo) and now the lower body is cut for more articulation.

Now i'm looking forward to buy some plastic to build the cabin and ipoxy. Dear loulou, waht type of ipoxy is to use best? We got 5-Minute-Epoxy from the RC-Shop, and standard 2-component-ipoxy. Whats better to handle?

The next steps at first are:

- longer shocks (front shocks will become stainless steel, the rear ones aluminium - more weight on the front, every gram counts :-P)

- hot-air forming the shock-mounts on the axles

- tryin' to get the gears and pinions

- tryin' to geht some flexible skidplates

manufacturing the YELLOW-CRAWLER cabin.

I'm happy about every tips and advicees. Greetz,

XBX

But now i'll continue the works on YELLOW-CRAWLER 2. The lower chassis is completed (except skid-plates, there's only vinegar in glas bottles to get...****!)

HELLO MR. XbanditoX I am very happy for you, these crawler must bring much pleasures to you.

They are powerful crawlers.

I have to stop my production of models, and I am at present at rest for manufacture.

Good successes in your modifications,

Hey!

Yes, THE STICK rocks a lot, i now got powerful Integy 65T Motors, it climbs everything except walls, hehe. The left CLOD has to become a Race-Truck, but now i'll complete my New-Bright at first. The Chassis is very nice, and the body only needs to be cut on the right side, the windows must be chopped and then i'll manufacture the cabin. Sadly Flapding doesn't reply my messages i sent, so i've to drive it with stock gears.

Why want you to stop your works?

MR XbanditoX .....

I have to manufacture several models, and I stop a little.
With the nearest autumn I will see what I can do, I would like to keep the model ((NEWBRIGHT)) perhaps the RUBICON 1:6 would interest me, it is the model of ((beequewl)).

yeah the big one is really nice, i've lost an auction on eBay with this item so i found the 1/10 and searched for infos about it, that's the way i found your YELLOW-CRAWLER!

And now, something cempletely different:

STATUS REPORT!!!

I've just a few problems, i just found POLYSTYROL GLAS (Acryl-Glas, i don't know the english word), it's hard and breaks, but i'll try to drive carefully. The next problem is - it's not easy to varnish it. i'll grind it with a sandpaper. The Glues i used: superglue to fix the parts where they have to be mounted, 5-minute-ipoxy-resin (never use this type of ipoxy, my friends, there's no time left, RUSH! RUSH! RUSH! - sucks!) and a plastic-putty i'll apply tomorrow. On the front i shortened the mountings of the body an glued them at the right position on the body again. on the rear i'll make two holes in the plate and screw it from the underside with metric screws and nuts. or jellybeans, let's see :-P

The Antenna i'ld like to wind over the two bracings on the rear behind the cabin, disguised with a chain. I haven't found a spring-atenna, no worn toys to get, saaaaad.

inside the cabin i'll put a roll cage made by the stock blue roll cage.

Are there hints, advices and/or tips from you guys here? What do you think, is it okay? I'ld like to read opinions of you, thanks in advance,

XbX

MR. XbanditoX. your work is very very well made. This crawler will be similar to ((YELLOW-CRAWLER)) and that makes me a great pleasure. I leave you continue this very good work and I am anxious to see the continuation. I made the jump by seeing your model, it made me think when I have to begin construction from ((YELLOW-CRAWLER)). congratulation still…

It seems i have to remove the paint and make it again, ****! the colours i bought are not very tough and have to much acetone in it so the grounding gleams through.

Doesn't matter, i'm on the way! I'll see tomorrow, when i have to remove the paint, i'll not use them anymore and YELLOW-NUMBER2 will become SILVER-CRAWLER by a old-skool brush.

Man i'm very pissed by these paints i used for my Rubicon. :-(

to be continued...

Feel free to ask or comment. It's not that perfect like yours, there have been some problem during the manufacturing of this car, i had to paint it again an the window is now not very perfectly re-mounted, on the rear the paint made a home-run *lol* and i had to paint it there again, too. More in the description of the gallery ;-)

examples:

I've called it YELLOW CRAWLER 2 - but i'm searchin' for a final name ;-)

XbanditoX…

Which pleasure of seeing it finally…. the resemblance is striking… the good work which you have to carry out on this crawler gives a very good result.

There remains to you the system of new-GEARs to install… ((YELLOW-CRAWLER has a ratio of 120/1, (stock newbright 45/1) what gets a phenomenal force to him but its speed is slowed down of much.

But for the extreme crawling, speed is excellent. I will follow your modifications with interest. THANK
