The tires are way too big for scale, you would have to change them. You'll also need to build a new chassis or buy a prefab. This is my favorite and also priced right. http://www.tcscrawlers.com/TCS-X-Trail-Scale-Chassis-fo...corpion-p-16556.html

If it's not broke you're not having fun!

Tires are way to big, which can be fixed pretty easily.. the big problem is the axles are so wide that it will never really look scale unless you find a different body that is extremely wide, or a larger body and lengthen the chassis to fit it maybe.

I wonder if you got a 1/6 or 1/8 body and put the 1/10 axles under it with a new chassis how it would look. I know the 1/6 jeep body is a bit large but they had a H3 that seemed like it would look more appropriate with the 1/10 size axle and tires.

I am currently modding nylint 1:6 wheels and tires to my new bright 1:6 jeep. I have one side complete.
This gives a much more scale look and also dramatically increases performance on the rock

I'd like to see that. The axles are so stupidly wide stock. I suppose an easy fix would be to run wheels with almost full backspacing to move them inward. I thought about narrowing my axles for a better look.

I was thinking about narrowing mine too, I have the big crawler now so my 1/10 can be in pieces for extended amounts of time.

If you could shave 1/2 inch off each side and then either get new wheels or modify the stock ones to move them inward, and then get a smaller diameter tire it would almost look normal.

what if you got the 1:6 chassis and body and stuck 1:10 axles under it? this would look waaaay more scale. I have a body for a 1:6 if someone is chasing one.

I have a 1:10 axle somewhere, I'll mock it up so you can check the scale

Would need to upgrade motors/gears for sure, the 1/6 body/frame weigh quite a bit more than the 1/10...

mine, close enough. The only thing you can't do scale is driveshafts ( and you could add some non funtioning units )

From my experience to get my NB to scale i had to create larger bodies...like that wheels look smaller and visually its quite ok. Performance wise obviously you lose something then...extra height and bigger bodies dont really help on crawling. The NB short wheel and wide axles base doesnt help either so you cannot go for any model you wish unless you modify chassis to get a longer wheelbase. I chose short wheel base bodies and still had to cheat on scale to get it look right.

When i had measured up an HPI lexan body it was quite near fit but not perfect so i aborted idea.

These are they trucks that I modeled Dhoom after. I`ve seen them perform in person and they are amazing and insane all at once. The pics on the site are kinda old now and show 44`s but most are now running 48`s-52`s.

See....Dhoom is a Scaler Big Grin

Not so much the hight of the tires being out of scale. I think the width has more to play with it and the width of the axles.
