So ....I thought I would get this started up. After all I have been working on my NewBright A LOT. So far, I have all ready done a lot to it and as of right now, It dosen't even look like a new bright. So Here is what I have all ready done.

Long Drop shocks ,Built by me, Thanks To seand.
I CUT the Chassie up a hole bunch..
2 Speed 280 motors,(Installed but not on the truck yet)
Waiting on a set of 70:1 From Good Old Flapding.
Full hobby Grade Electronics
Tazer15 esc( It's a cheap one)
Traxxas Reciver
Team losis "Micro-t" Controler
JR Racing 270 Servo
3,300 Mah Venom Racing Battery

Now..For the TOTAL SWEET-NESS That I just finished working on..

I noticed the more I learn about compitition grade Crawlers, Most of them have the body mounted by side mounts. I have been wanting to run my T-Maxx F-350 Body when BAM it finaly hit me.. Run a Side mount body. What A great Idea. So I went on a trip to the hard wear store got a few supplies and this is what I came up with..

ok...Now I bet your wondering what the truck looks like...Well First I took on one more small project..I Got a can of "Anodiezeing" Spray paint and painted the Bead lockers. Here is a sample of what I have been up to.. The truck has no Axles under it. The tires are just sitting there. But The Body is fully mounted and it works GREAT!!. So with out futher adue.. I give you my new "NewBright Ford F-350"

I will keep up dating this thread as I go along. My next plan is to get rid of the yellow on the chassie. I will paint it over in red. And I think I may make my Body mounts black .Not sure yet....So what do you guys think?

Those body mounts look mighty familiar. I had ones just like them on my Wheely King:

I've since replaced them with acrylic rods but they worked great when I had them!!

Funny that you wrote how your NB really doesn't look like a NB anymore. Here's my Wheely King almost out of the box:

Here's what it looks like now. Can you see the difference?

Cheers,

Sean

P.s. glad the shocks worked out for you.

That looks hot! The ESC is going to be critical for maintaining crawling control with those motors and gears. The speed 280's have a good amount of power, but there is a very fine line between easing into the throttle to get over something, and overpowering the tires and just spinning. It takes a lot of practice and a very steady finger, but can be a good crawler.

As for competition, basically I think the axles are too wide for 2.2 scale. I have been thinking about making a tube frame and narrowing my axles to make it more of a 2.2 rig, just like you are doing.

If I ever actually get to doing it I'll post up about it. Still too much work on my 1:1 race car to do right now.

Once I run out of thinkgs to do on the NB I will think about up grading my ESC. It is ok But not Dead on. some times it had a delay going from FWD to REV. That bugs me but other than that my esc is ..OK.. I have been thinking of running that new ESC for the New E-Maxx you can run 2 7.2V battery's off of it.

Airbornes 350 comes to life. This is one monsterous truck. To give you an idea as to how big it is...those tires are 49 inch SuperSwamper Iroks.....about 5 grand worth of rubber.

OK Guys, I have been back to work on My F-350. It has turned out Awsomwe !! so the list of new mods on top of the other ones include
Gnauper's Speed 280's
Flapdings 70:1 Gears
And of course The 4Link Thanks to A.R.C. Showing us how it's done.

Well I guess I will just let the Pictures do the talking. Here we go...
Just waiting on the Build to start.

First I decided to use coat hanger.Just to get the right length for my real links

I also made up brackets to mount the links to.I used a small pice of Alu.and a dremmel tool and started hacking away.

This is what I used to make my links..

First I tryied to mount the Shocks here, I did not like it to much.

So I moved them down here,,They worked much better.

After lots of long hours of messing around I finaly finished up.

ALL most 9 3/4" Flex!

And the finished Prouduct..Well ALL MOST i still have some fine tunning that needs to be done.

And teh Finishing Touch!
\

I will be posting up a new Video soon Just have to get it put togather. I hope you have enjoyed my pictures so far.! Let me know what you guys think!

Well My New Bright Friends..It looks like I will have to back to the drawing table with my F-350. I was out doing some "Ice" crawling on the melting snow piles in my drive way. I was using a lot of the Speed the 350 has to get wheel spin in get over the snow.. when something "bad" happened...I broke my frame...

I knew that this was going to be a weak spot,But I had no other choice seeing that I had to cut so much off from my last set up..O-Well.. Now it is time to build a new frame.Once again, I think I will do something like A.R.C and maby a cross of SeanD's wheely king. Well I will be starting this project soon, And will keep you guys updated with pictures.
