Nice work Chuck, it looks good. Aluminum or Steel?

If you dont mind a suggestion...mount the electrics with Velcro so you can get rid of the Zap strap, put some weights in the hole on the bottom of your chassis( that`ll really lower the CG), and then fashion a plate to cover the bottom so it`ll be nice and smooth for sliding over things you`ll get hung up on otherwise.

I dig the color. It looks like something made by Caterpillar.

thanks ARC, it was left over circuit board boxes from work. It's gold anodized alum.(a little thinner than 1/8") Right now, I'm just trying things out. It seems a little too heavy for my taste. I plan to take the bottom plate and mount it under side(not where its at now). Need to finish modding the shocks. Flex right now is where it was at with the modified stock chassis(but it has WAY more Big Grin) Plus with the center pivot/bolt design...where can change the wheel base another 1". Still have to fit the body(all the way down of coarse)I need GEARS right now!!!!! I wish there was an easy way to get that done. At least I finally have a base for upgrading to hobby grade later. I also need to shave the axles like you did. Not sure of the total weight right now...would have to put everything back(weigh it) and so on...I keep yall posted,Chuck

would a 4.7uf50V cap work on these stock motors? My buds here at work have all kinds for me to try. Dont wanna fry anything ...yet. Would these require a diode to keep any charge from going back to the circiut board? Thanks,Chuck

made some more progress on the chassis...it was a little to heavy for my taste. I think the motors like the less weight also. But, the stock motors still suck... without gears

as always, here's a few pics. Still need to mount the black box.Later,Chuck

One day, someone showed me a glass of water that was half full. And he said, "Is it half full or half empty?" So I drank the water. No more problem. ~Alexander Jodorowsky.....

I dont think I will either...I am really interested in maybe trying out some of those low gear motors posted on the other thread. I emialed him, and he suggested the 12V motors-w/9.6V batts. Might try'um out. They are longer, but whats another hole-right?

yes chuck whats another hole lol is true .all part of the modifacation. the speed 280s seem very popular.but you may be able to go higher depending on how much work you whant to do . thanks chuck

I would like to see this on the rock. I am impressed by your articulation!! That chassis is starting to look trick too mate, I'll give you that. I had the 90 degree articulation on my chassis as a prototype but I could not limit the roll overs so I am back to testing. That's why we like to see em driven.

well, it's kinda too late now...the NB is in parts right. I was gonna do low gears, dog bones. But, I changed my mind and ordered the ax10 yesterday! I'm not even sure if I will even put the NB together. Without gears, there are the biggest p.o.s. Heck, I even made a small rock garden that it wouldn't do 1 darn thing. We put a 1:18 nylint in there to kickazz!!! For the money, nothing beats the Nylint!!!!!!!!!! Rockcrawler

this is the reason this forum is here to improve the newbright.we all know the stock newbright is limited in its task. but if you invest a bit of time and money they can be a good r/c. the nylint is a good r/c i agrre but it still needs modification. the gears are weak .and the susspension is hopeless. i know this my friend had one it only lasted a week..
