Depends what you want. SLOWER? Yes. Longer run? sure. Try a slightly higher voltage for more power. I did a test run on a 12 volt DeWalt drill pack last night. Not bad. More powerful, but also faster. Tough trade...

Did you still have praportional throttle?

if not, im going to stick with 9.6v.
would be nice to have torque and throttle control!

I just finished a 12v lithium ion battery upgrade on mine (six 18650 3.7v cells scavenged from a laptop battery) and it kicks butt! It is a bit faster, but the proportional throttle works fine. It's got a lot more torque at low speeds and will run a lot longer thanks to the 3200mAh rating of the battery pack. I played with it for over an hour with no sign of loosing charge.

Well, I ripped out the speedometer 'cuz I don't need it on the trails Big Grin, but it feels about 30-40 percent faster... Quite a bit really, made finesse crawling a little tougher. Still proportional, but "jumpy". Little touch on the throttle and she'd jump the next rock. Not sure if I'll keep it that way...
