I have two stock chassis. One is cut and the other is brand new.

putting a 4 link on the n.b only increases the stress on a already weak plastic chassie.i found this out the hard way same as you hence the pimp cane saved the day for me . Big Grin

One day, someone showed me a glass of water that was half full. And he said, "Is it half full or half empty?" So I drank the water. No more problem. ~Alexander Jodorowsky.....

I too, Have an extra plastic chassie,I could just toss that one in. Then the same thing may happen later down the road. O-Well most of the fun for me is the build n-e-ways..Pimp Cane looks like the way to go..But I just don't care to much for the look.I know they are great and work Verry well.I Guess I like the chalange of making my own things with only having a few tools, and of course none of them are the "right" ones. =)

Take a look at my build and duplicate that with aluminum and plastic cutting boards. But then again you changed your electronics so you can narrow your chassis. I made mine like ARC's to fit the stock electronics. Good luck!

a better way (AJ) may be you could fiberglass the inside of your donner chassie before you install the links it would strengthen it

loulou it is such a shame that newbright didnt put a bit more strength into these chassies. the plastic is very weak i would reccomend to enybody before a install of suspension modification .that the chassie should be strengthend with fiberglass or some other material .i found with my 4link install stress cracks along my chassie. i got to a point where it was unrepairable.

your guys Idea of reparing it, They are all great Ideas, I like the "Fiberglass" Idea..But I have been thinking about building a new chassie n-e-ways. This will just get me to actually do it.. I Think I will use ALUM, For the sides and run some "cutting board" on the bottom to serve as a skid plate. I am pretty excited about getting this project going..=)

He is using ball ends Wayne. Looks like Traxxas to me. They have a ball in the socket that has a hole all the way through so you can fasten them down with a bolt. They give just as big of a range of motion as the ones you mention but with less chance of popping off. Same ones I`m using on my rig.

Sorry about your break Jordan. Now on to bigger and better things Cool Big Grin

I prefer those types of links, they never pop off and are much safer because of it. Years ago I had a Nitro Buggy. I modded it to fit a Fox .35 motor, the original was a .15. The thing was insanely fast...scary actually. I had the press on type links on the ends of my tierod(thats what it came with stock), I hit a dip in the street at WFO and that was the end of that. The car took a weird bounce, the end popped off, lost steering drove straight into the edge of a sidewalk and totalled the buggy. The frame folded like a pretzel. Good thing I never hurt anyone.

That truck is looking great. I don't get the whole thing about the full size with the Iroks though. Is that your real rig? "5 grand worth of rubber" is a crock, but the rig is still beefy.

Apparently you`ve never bought a set of 49 inch Iroks in Canada, they`re not cheap... add in your taxes plus environmental levies and you just spent a ****load of money on just rubber. Itty bitty little 44`s cost a grand a piece around here. The trucks not mine. It`s been around town for a few years and Jordans rig reminded me of it so I snapped a couple pics for him

Well my NB friends, Once again the build of my f-350 is under way.I was going to run and ALU.chassis. But then I saw altered sheep's buggy build and I really liked that idea of using coat hangers. So I thought that I would give it a try sense I all ready had all the stuff to make it happen. There are a few things I wanted to keep so I came up with a few of my one Ideas (I think) Li i really like the long drop shocks. Now I do think oil filed shocks would be nice but the problem is that they really limit the amount of flex. I enjoy using "BIGFlex" when I am crawling around. So ne-ways lets get onto the pictures.

I was kinda using the stock chassis for a guide on the measurements.

I how ever shorted the bottom to only 4" x4" This will hopefully increase the "Break over" angle.

I have now got the axles stripped down and I decided to flip the axles on the truck.I am not to sure if it help with anything, but I like it better that way. I am also using the same method as before to build the links.
