I have been tinkering in my shop again. I put together a truck that I am extremely proud of, and I'd like to share it with you.

Inspired by the steamy jungles of Africa, where your life depends on your Land Rover ......

I present,

The Head Hunter

I have run it twice now and is it SWEET Smile

It has TONS of power TONs TONs and more TONS Big Grin

It runs as slow, or a bit slower than the stock truck, at lowest speed. It runs probably 50% faster at full throttle. Very controlable power with the electronics I chose. I am very happy Smile

The steering is a dream too. Digital propotional, strong and fast!

Nice flexy suspension Smile

I made new longer shafts for the shocks, and cut 2 1/2 coils off each spring.

Dang Tikoni! That is nice! I'm jealous Bro. How did you extend the wheelbase like that? This is a badass ride man...I really like it Smile

Are you really running speed 400 motors? or did you mean 300? I take it they're not high rpm motors huh? How did you make the pinions fit on that larger shaft anyway? Stock gearing?

Hi Greg Smile

Thanks a lot, It means a lot to me that you like it.

I had to purchase 11 tooth pinions for the 2.3mm shaft on the speed 400's

They run 12,000 rpm unloaded. as near as I can figure, the stocks run about 8000 rpm unloaded.

The 2 batteries fit in the old battery/radio compartment. It will be interesting to see how long the 2 - 2000mah batteries will last Smile

What a friggin sexy mod job you did Tikoni! What makes it so cool is you stuffed all those batteries and motors in there and it's a beautiful truck! Have you seen my latest build? I'm working on it this weekend and hope to finish it, get it running.

Tikoni, Nice job. What caught my eye was the fenders and the rear bumper. They look really good on the body.

I got this idea from you a few months ago, you had a 4 wheel steer rig and you put rear rims all the way around, but you had some problems. I tried it too and found the rear rims made the jeep too wide.

Then I found that if you take a rear rim and cut off the center hub flush with the rin, it's a perfect fit for the front, with the origonal screw and the wheel is 3/8" further out from centerline.

Then I took the piece I cut off the new front rim and used it for a cosmetic spacer for the rear wheel.

I inserted four 4-40 nuts into the rear wheel hub to space the wheelout from centerline by 3/8" and used a longer screw to attach the wheel.
