One day, someone showed me a glass of water that was half full. And he said, "Is it half full or half empty?" So I drank the water. No more problem. ~Alexander Jodorowsky.....

Ok, here are some new pics. Finally as i said before i managed to find my tough guy a steering wheel to hold on to...he still want to show how cool he is by holding it with one hand LOL. I did some other slight alterations as well. Painted shocks and chassis black...no more blue. I removed those flexible arch addons and cut some more the wheel arches. Today got some inspiration from an ice tea can and cut out a small shovel out of it. Came looking neat. That's all for now.

and here are some testing pics...articulation vs arch clearance...managed to find a decent balance between the two

thanks a lot mate

music is Radiohead...i'm a big fan

re articulation...its not the best...had to leave front top spring cones on beacause of arch scrubbing. What i'll try is to make them go further downwards instead but otherwise i cant complain.

Hi again

today i was off and had lots of free time so i tried building my own long travel shocks. With lots of trial and error i managed to get a decent setup. I first tried to do them at the back but axle was moving too much, not remaining aligned to body wheel arches so i opted for the fronts instead. Top travel is more or less the same as i had before but downwards travel i gained an extra 1cm without cutting any chassis. I cut the shock to fit exactly because i didnt want to do any holes in the bonnet. I also tied the axle now to remain in place when i lift it by hand.

Here are some pics of the shocks...pretty basic but work fine.

new testing video clip to follow soon...

...and here is the new video clip with new front shocks installed and chained axle. As you will see performance did improve a little...where on the last clip the landy overturned on the highest bit, now it passed several times without any problem.

Here are my new long travel front shocks, made out of old worn out screwdrivers LOL...they work fine though, better than the previous ones with narrow springs...these are softer springs. I didnt want to mess up my stock shocks. The chain is to prevent axle from falling down when lifted...i know its a bit exagerated but that is what i had available.
