Mr. Flapding is not able to get them at this time.

If someone who has some could get a tooth count & pitch information on all three gears it would help those of us who still need to convert our gears to find some?

My gear formula is no secret.

Put an 8 tooth 48 pitch helicopter pinion on the motor. Take an RC18T 60 tooth spur gear, and glue a 32 pitch 8 tooth gear into the center. The ones I use require the center hole to be drilled larger for our gear shafts.

The next gear is made by cutting the outer part of the stock 2nd gear off, punching the center out of a 32 pitch 40 tooth spur, then gluing them together.

The last thing is to slightly trim down the shoulder of the axle gear so the teeth of the 40 tooth gear don't hit. I usually take about .020" off.

That's it. I make them because I am likely one of few members with precision machines, and have already made fixtures for all processes involved. So far, this odd combination of mixed pitches is the only way I was able to maintain the stock gear spacing, yet still arrive at a better ratio.

I can still make them, but there is a 2 week waiting period for the parts I need. That is just for them to pack it up. Then there is the time in transit, the time it takes me to make them, plus the time in transit back to you.

Likely most of a month turnaround time.

That would be fine for me i haven't really been playing with it because it cant really do much. I was going to buy a kit for a hobby model crawler but if i can get the newbright to do almost all the same stuff why spend the money for a hobby grade.

I agree! I have about $150 in my crawler and by all the vids I see on YouTube, mine would smoke most of 'em!

Hey All,

Where can I find these Performance Products High Torque Gear set for New Bright 1:10 crawlers?

Am I correct the one set takes care of the front and back?

Are these drop in and do the come with directions, or is it self-explanatory?

Thanks,

WTS

Yes, you can still get Flapding gears. Same for the brass and steel dogbones. The dogbones are not just drilled out keys, but rather machined from separate brass and steel stock, then pressed together. They are a custom part.

Anyway, the stuff is still available, but nobody has been buying, that's all. I in fact have a (small plastic) drawer full of the dogbone blanks ready to be assembled.

Cheers.
