One day, someone showed me a glass of water that was half full. And he said, "Is it half full or half empty?" So I drank the water. No more problem. ~Alexander Jodorowsky.....

Your crawler takes the value. Your changes are new here, and all members should take advantage of your knowledge.

Wow! Thanks for the compliments guys. Its nice.

I`m no engineer NotaToy, just a gearhead with some cool tools that doesnt know any better. I always try to "think outside the box" as much as I can when building something.
I made a thread showing my Diff clearance mod http://rcboards.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/8401055751/m/4141038174
Hopefully a lot of others can take advantage of it.

Thanks again guys. Glad to hear you can use some of my ideas on your 1/6 j33p3r. A 1/6 done up to be a slow moving rock crawler would be unstoppable.

I`ve almost got the build done, I`m just waiting on my new shocks and tires to arrive. I took it for its maiden voyage over the rock pile in my parking lot and it was pretty dam impressive. Even with the original tires and a set of shocks off of a 1/6 LR3 it performed better than I had ever thought it would.

I figured I would take the hardest route over the rocks for the first trip, one that the previous configuration of my Jeep couldnt do, so that I could get a good guage as to how it will perform. It drove up and over without pause, not even spinning a tire. That was in -13c weather with ice and snow all over the place. I proceeded to drive up and over the rockpile at will, taking any line I wanted and was only stopped once when I jammed a front tire between 2 rocks, which was fixed by backing up and taking a different line.

I`m really pleased with the way it has allready performed and cant wait to see how it will run when the rest of my gear gets here. I`ll post up some pic pretty quick.

Airborne, heres a good link to building links. This is how I built mine. My new links are quite a bit longer than what you see in the pics here.

Skidplate

Skidplate on

Skidplate off (it makes a huge difference. Anything my belly does hit, it just slides right over it.
