loulou i have made boath these type,s of shocks.and imo they are boath very poor .as some of the guys have said they are not shocks just springs with a bolt through.very poor. you need oil shocks .i know they can be expensive but they are worth the money ...take a look at this link....

thanks loulou i understand that these spring shocks give flex but because they have no central piston .they give no damping force .there fore the chassie will just bounce around on the spring . thanks ...

I agree that an oil shock is better than just a spring .. but is there on the market, oil shocks to work properly on the kind of crawler that we want ..

YELLOW-CRAWLER has a flex 9 "1/2, and crawler 1/6 to have as much .

I am a novice in this area ..

An oil shock, would there a good job with a large flex ?

I made the pivot, and I put servo on the axle. one problem was with the lenght of the cables of servo but I was lucky. If I would like to take out of the cage front axle I should make longer cables, but I don't know how I can change the directions, there's no place. I turn the pilotBig Grin

To change the direction of the motor ( SERVO ), reversed the cables + / - ..( SERVO )

You say that there is no place to put the servo motor on the axis?

My understanding,,,,,, how can you get long enough extension out of an oil shock, Correct?
make a pivot / extension under the oil shock to do the same as the flapding style works.
Only thing would be on the rise of motion till the pivot /extension is at is farthest point, for instance; Shock will have no play on the uprising of motion / extension just like the flapding does. So you either have to use a tether strap, or better yet a shock absorber to slow the rise down.

Problem with the Newbrights suspension, They use the shock/spring as a suspension link.

For those that are big on flex, A 4-link with the shocks mounted on the lower 2 links will give more flex, wile also keeping force on that link, Most likely until it is at full range.

A mustangs suspension like mine is kinda setup this way. But,, Only the spring is on the lower link to frame, for load and ride hight. the shock absorber is connected from frame to axle, extension and compression.

LOULOU there is place to put servo but with bad directions. there's no place to turn servo saver, If I could do this I would have good directions.

WAYNE S, ...THANKS for these explanations ..

I will receive my oil shocks very soon (I hope) and their installation will be on LAND ROVER ..

I think I did not build a crawler with this LAND ROVER .. I could only build rear flex, this would help the LAND ROVER, some obstacle to climb more easily ..

I really the idea of getting the JEEP 1/6, into a crawler .. but if I chande idea, I put all my energy to change the LAND ROVER a crawler ..
##############################################

The gearing will be surely lowered (its speed is too fast)..

The system of flex (JACOB S) must be installed (front / rear)..

Lowered the body (if possible)..

Resolve the problem of (CUTOUT), which stops the LAND ROVER several times when it is hot (for climbing, this is not a very good system) ..

Therefore, I monitors and examines the work of JACOB S .. All these information will be useful in time and place ..

THANK .. JACOB S .. for these pics ..

If I understood it, there is a place for the installation of servo motor .. but this installation, place the servo motor in a position contrary to that he held before .. therefore we must reverse the wire of the motor + / - ..

I will await the results of the operation of servo direction .. and behaviour of the crawler on the rock .. or some other obstacles ..

THANK .. JACOB S .. us know your work on your LAND ROVER ..

You guys have 3 wires so you would have almost full control of a hobby grade servo. You would have full control if the trim was or Is on the radio.

3 wires go to the pot, 2 wires go to the motor.
Inside a hobby grade servo is 5 wires.

Hi guys, I have a problem with servo, sometimes it sounds strange and I think it will be broken. I found something like this:

It's very strong and has metal gears, but you can see that there's only free wires. My servo has a lot of wires. Is it possible to connect new servo, will it work?

this servo you show is a hobby servo .and it is not possible to fit this to your landrover unless you change the hole electrical system to hobby grade.
