I found these gearmotors on eBay.

They're much cheaper than others I've seen.

$28 for 2 including shipping.

Camp Solutions

We could do away with the compound gears and drive the output spur gear directly.

They give torque values, but I'm not sure how to compare that to our motors and compound gear systems.

these look good motors but fitting these up to the newbright would be a mamoth task you would have to fabricate new motor mounts not easy on the newbright .not only that i think the tourq would shredd the main spur gear .

One day, someone showed me a glass of water that was half full. And he said, "Is it half full or half empty?" So I drank the water. No more problem. ~Alexander Jodorowsky.....

The guy has other versions with more/less gearing, max volts and RPMs.

He also has other style gearmotors with open cases.

i understand .minelsen. but ithink the biggest motor any body has installd in a newbright todate is a 380 can size .it is possible to install bigger but with lots of work .

Well you could attach the gear reduction unit to a motor that you know is safe for the board... still its going to add significant length to the motor.
