Hey, some of you might have seen my other thread, but im modding an LR3 1/10, and i just put some new motors from an rc gut wrencher in it. They were just the right size and dropped in, but i need better gears to go with them. I have all the gears/pinions i need, im just stuck on how to fit the gears.

If anyone has any info, or even better, close up pics of their gearbox to show how they mounted the 4th gear that would be great.

Watup .. I've already given all the links, for this facility .. the laying of this fourth gear is very simple .. The explanations are all on this forum and in your topic .. I can not take other pics of this facility .. I would open my diffs .. what gears you have now? 34x10?

.. WATUP .. Did you study the pics of my installation of this fourth gear ?

You need a few pieces to make this mod ..

1 = a metal rod to serve as shaft, the new gear ..

2 = (4) small plastic tubes, which serve to stem supported the U-shaped, and the new gear ..

3 = (2) metal screws (for both screwed support of the new gear at the bottom of diff) 2 screws on the metal, will under the diff, and fits within 2 small plastic tubes /..

(2) of these small tubes are placed on either side of the new gear, and (2) others, will be screwed to the bottom of diff ..

We must take the necessary measures so that this new gear, is well aligned with the third gear stock ..

When the new gear, was well aligned .. I screwed my (2) small plastic tubes and have surrounded the (2) small plastic tubes (those who go to the bottom of the diff, glue EPOXY ..

I have maintained all firmly support on the third gear, until it is solidified ..

Then I made a base of plastic, to put the motor (the motor is higher) ..

The motor, is maintained with glue / stick, surrounded by a small wire metal, adjusting the motor, is when the glue / stick begins to harden ..

The important thing is to .. aligned the gears and pinion ( 8 TOOTH ) of the motor on the new gear ..

The motor can be maintained several ways ..

My installation date of 2 years and it never bothered .. everything still works perfectly ..

You need to make this facility a double .. the second time is easier to do ..

Look at my pics, and you probably will be able to do this mod .. GOOD LUCK ..

.. PS .. If you have any questions, I answer as best I can ..

looks cool loulou here is another possible solution to the gearbox problem i was on graupners motor site and found these all metal gears low ratio and very cheap no dought they would take some modification to fit in but they do look suitable ,.. http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/acatalog/graupner_1753.html

One day, someone showed me a glass of water that was half full. And he said, "Is it half full or half empty?" So I drank the water. No more problem. ~Alexander Jodorowsky.....

yes loulou of course this can all change with even smaller motor pinion ,even lower the ratio ,its worth looking into for the 1/10 . also the advantage of metal gears so would be stronger than all plastic .

hey thanks for the pics. Seems the thing i was missing was raising the motor, i was trying to put it under the new gear lol - very stupid thing for me to do.

However - i did find a metal shaft in the end, as it happens it was a metal kitchen skewer sawed in half and bent to shape lol but oh well. tubing was a doddle to get hold of and ive fitted my rear 4th gear, doing the front tommorow. Then all ive got to to is fix the motors in.

Thanks for help loulou and NAT
