I just recieved my New Bright crawler for Christmas and being the kid i am i had to charge it right away. Having plenty of other r/c's (tamiya, kyosho, Traxxis and some store bought) i was used to the 8 hour begin charge time. So with that being said i began to think. Someone on here used a 6 link from a mini. So my thoughts started when i decided i would buy another new bright crawler, add clodbuster axles (huge) and gear this jeep around oh 300:1. Well i have my second jeep and tons of axles and gears to make 4 of them so here goes nothing. Ill try to keep you informed on the progress. Rockcrawler Big Grin

Those look nice. It's be nice to see them beside the stock axle for comparison. I like that they are realistic with the outer knuckles, etc.

Looking forward to following this thread Smile

Yes unfortunately. Frown The axles need 4 ball joints for a first connection to the tub of the TJ. After connecting those i could see a fatal error with the plastic link arms, they were binding up. So continuing on i tried to connect oil shocks with the same mount as the stock (they have a flat head and long bolt design). The shocks wouldnt stay in place due to the binding and even with newer sway links the issue would still remain as my friend and i came to conclude. Im really sorry guys and gals i tried my best to make this work but it cant be done without a frame swap, but then it isnt the New Bright TJ anymore. I wish i could do more...but shes back together and my friend bought her for 50 bucks and shes now wheelin' somewhat stock.
Frown This is a sad day for me...

Yea this is true thanks for making me feel better. Razz

By the way i trimmed 4 coils off the rear springs and 3 off the front of my super stock TJ, she flexes amazingly like this and i suggest it to those who want to mildly mod theirs. It also makes the wheelbase longer and alot more stable. Hey ill take it! Big Grin

In the mean time im looking for a pinion with more teeth from tamiya, kyosho, or any mail order kits. and im thinking of just re-drilled the top motor mount and moving it back for more torque? Sound good, if so ill make my friend do it since his has already been modded alot.

Right you are, Charles! Our man Mitchell needs a smaller pinion gear (two, really) of the same pitch, and then move the motors closer to the ring gear to mash them up properly. Let us know how it goes! And if you figure out the correct pitch, tell us! I've got no idea how to calculate that...
