I have to think of manufacturing me one 4 link by minimizing the expenditure.

12 BALL-LINK $27.00. 24 BALL-LINK $ 54.00!!!!! TOO MUCH EXPENSIVE for this project.
I wants the price low and a rather powerful crawler, I have some chances.

The ball-link are to replace by terminals electric ($3.00) ,the links are metal stems which come from metal frameworks ($2.00

I have to use the electric box of the NEWBRIGHT for the frame. I have to screw my anchorings (MECCANO PARTS) directly on the box and the whole is very solid.

The length will be 20 inches. Perhaps I will install a power steering with the back. I do not know if this project will be successful, but I test it.

The body will not be that of the photograph, it will be surely a body ((JEEP)) : -)

Of other news later. THANK

For the extention, 2 discs of rubber replace the ball-link

loulou - I like your idea - these axles are like the "clod buster" axles - totally independent of the main chassis ( self contained )........

"great project" !!

I think that's the best part of building crawlers. making your oun parts from scratch or from other items.

You excel at both techniques my friend.

I'll be watching Smile

The terminals will have 2 small discs of rubber for flexibility ......
It is not too conventional but I like that like that. :-)

I made my anchorings for the link in (V) I can lower them if their installation requires it. It is an eccentric eccentric eccentric project. : -)

What another ingenious idea, loulou. Your masterful ingenuity makes the incredible a reality. A week ago I could not conceive of the sort of things I have seen being created on this board.

One important aspect of innovation for a hobby such as this is the fun in implementing the alternative use of existing items, to remind us that success is not just something that can be bought.

Although I could have posted this in relation to several projects here, and with the utmost respect to everyone else, I think Mr loulou is a (the?) king among masters.

Thank you all for your inspiration - Steve

The 4 links are in place, ..... I wonder whether this project will go far… :-(

It will be its final length. ..................

The system for the shocks is not to finish, it is to be worked again.....................

Perhaps these small parts (car-parts) will be useful for anchorings of the shocks…

.......This crawler is not yet on the rock: -)

Tex you are the master of budget mods without a doubt. I'm interested to see how your truck works out. It looks like it'll work pretty well for all the 5 bucks that you've spent on it Smile

You are right KSULLY, it is an idea which came to me while looking at a crawler 4 link.....

I found it my taste, and I said myself, “TEX tries to manufacture you a crawler which resembles that one but without spending too much”.
I am to inform of the price of the ball-link, and their price was too high, $27.00 per 12 link, at this point in time I have to decide to build my 4 link with almost nothing, with inexpensive parts, just for the pleasure, and moreover, it is a good practice for my next work.

This week, I will work on the shocks, it is necessary that I find a means of placing them (in the good place)
Then, we will see what that gives to the end.
