Hey guys. As you well know, I have a few 1/10 New Brights. One has a Grand Cherokee (WK) body mounted to it that I love to death :-D..

Well, I need some advice for those of you that have the 1/6 Wrangler or 1/6 LR3. How does it compare to the Nylint 1/6? Obviously

I have a 1/6 Nylint hanging around that I may use for this project, but I'd like to stick with New Bright if its worth it.

Basically what I'm saying is this. I bought a 1/6 Grand Cherokee. I'm looking to give it the 4wd rockcrawling treatment. I have a 1/6 Nylint chassis that I could use. But do you guys think the 1/6 New Bright (wrangler with its 9.6 single battery or LR3 with dual 19.2's and digital steering and throttle) is any better? Thanks.

well i think the 9.6 is better because sure the dual 19.2 batterys are better torque and runtime but that thing is big!! and the weight i think the 9.6 will behave WAY better but thats my opinion i want to see a video where they both compete

im also not sure if the 1:6 LR3 is geared (no pun indended) towards crawling. it seems as if they made it just to go fast (box claims to reach speeds of 100mph scale speed)

But what do you mean its bigger? I'm asking about the 1:6 Wrangler Rockcrawler, 1:6 LR3, and 1:6 Nylint.. They are all relatively the same size lol.

ksully, only thing that Grand Cherokee shares with the "rockcrawlers" is the fact that its the same scale. Its just a basic 2wd chassis that can't even move its own weight on a flat carpet.. thats right.. fully charged battery. and the **** thing will barely budge on a flat carpet.. Its got cool little silly things.. like headlights, brakelights, and turn signals.. but it has no rockcrawling in its future. Not unless I swap the body over to a 1:6 Nylint.. (hint hint) Wink

ahh that would be a pretty sick combo i bet. well i don't know about the 1:6 scale nylint but it sounds better thatn the 1:6 scale newbright. but i read that it has a couple problems with rubber bands breaking or something.

the 1/6 nylints are amazing for a toy grade rc. the "rubber band" thing you've heard about is actually referring to the rubber belt that runs from the motor to the gearbox. they actually don't break, they just get stretched out and slip. Honestly, I've ran my nylint probably 10-12 hours and haven't had a problem. the belts usually only slip in high, and even when they DO slip in low, it's usually a good thing, because it means that your tires are bound up pretty tight. I can drive my nylint staright into a wall and it will go straight up until the back bumper hits the ground.

Try 200. Walmart was clearancing them out 'bout 6 months ago for 50, but those days are long gone. Target has them for 200, but it's for the 4th generation chassis, more than likely, which addressed a lot of the problems that the 1st 3 generations had. So 200 actually wouldn't be that bad.

I'd take my stock 1/6 nylint up against any modded newbright. I've owned them both, and I know how they perform.

I would go up against yellow crawler, simply for the opportunity to finally meet Tex and see yellow crawler in person. Big Grin

Seriously though, you can't really compare the two, the nylint's HUGE size makes it hard to get into some places that the smaller newbright can fit, but the newbright's lack of power is really it's only downfall that can't be fixed with simple mods.

Now, if Tikoni gets his rig running with those 2 big block lathe motors, I wouldn't wanna touch that. Razz
