What I used, remember kids you don't need a cad program or even a measuring tape to build this stuff. All my NB's have been eyeballed and built with some pretty basic hand tools.

I plan on using all stock gear to start (minus the moabs and chassis) bugdet for build should be around 10 bucks or so providing I give value to the hangers and such.(Moabs have been on a shelf collecting dust since last summer)

nice work there and looks all good but do you thing the hot melt glue and the coat hanger plastic is enough to keep it all in 1 piece?

Yeah, looks great, but the hot glue has me worried for you. Great idea on the hanger plastic though. I bet it is plenty strong, especially designed as a "tube" chassis. I'm curious to see how the glue holds though.

Keep us informed of the results!

If the hot glue fails, a trick I use very often is to run a "bead" of superglue around the joint, then immediately pour baking soda all over it. The baking soda instantly cures with the glue and provides a surprisingly strong crystalized "weld".

With all the snow I havn't been able to really abuse any of the plastic creations. We have a 2x2ish foot cd rack that holds 99 cd's, probably weighs a good 50 lbs, I had to hold the cd rack for balance but I let the exocage (not on the jeep) hold the weight. It didn't have to take any sort of flexing motion though. The scorpin chassis is very rigid, been kicking myself for not trying it earlier. I have tried to put a bit of flex to it by hand but I'm kinda worried about the glue myself so I don't want to crank on it. I made an aluminum firewall and a bulkhead for the rear before I went to work, I'm going to screw them to the chassis and they'll act as my link mounts. Post some pics when I wake up. Should take most of the strain off the chassis. If I start breaking joints I'll try the superglue baking soda mix, I've been pretty liberal with the hot glue, hoping to get some video this weekind.

That's pretty cool! I was playing with that idea myself just haven't had spare time. I like the super glue and baking soda idea!

If it's not broke you're not having fun!

I've heard that acetone and ABS shavings can also be mixed to produce a "plastic bondo" like you describe. I suppose another trick would be to just try one of those Harbor Freight plastic welders.

One day, someone showed me a glass of water that was half full. And he said, "Is it half full or half empty?" So I drank the water. No more problem. ~Alexander Jodorowsky.....
