LouLou if the big bores are to much money then look at the stock Stampede shocks from Traxxas, cheap and work very well, have a few sets here from over the years they are a very good shock

Be very careful when putting the caps on the Hot Racing shocks - they have a very fine thread that is easy to cross-thread. I found out the hard way and stripped the threads completely. I ended up having to use a two part plastic epoxy to finally get it stay together - of course this meant that I could never take the shock apart again for tuning!!!

My stupidity - but I ended up buying the new Losi Crawler shocks. The first thing I noticed is that the threads are coarser and much harder to strip - no leakage whatsoever, either.

Sorry for rambling.

I've purchased 2 complete sets of tmaxx shocks off ebay used for $10 a set
8 shocks shipped approx $25 from the U.S to Can, Thats 16 shocks for around $50 total. These may not be what you have in mind but be patient there are great deals on ebay.

similar to big bore, smaller in diameter, plastic bodies, you can rebuild them, change spring rates and oil type to tune, not bad for the $

Looks like you got yourself a money pit - but then again, don't we all? Smile Smile

I gave up calculating my costs after the 1000.00 mark!!!

Another place you should look into is

www.liquidrc.com

They often have agreat prices and they do actually have 99 cent shipping on everything. I've ordered shocks and motor from them in the past with no problems.

HELLO ..
I change springs stock (yellow) for spring 1/10 RUBICON cut and much softer ..

Springs pairs of shocks (stock) do not have the same extension .. One is longer than the other .. And very very hard ..
Waiting for my oil shock, I install springs 1/10 RUBICON .. I think the performance will be better .. I will do the same work on the other six shock ..

congrats on getting your shocks. Who decided to hold onto your refund? You or them for now?

Thought in earlier post, They were sending shocks and refunding you the rest.

WAYNE S .. They explained to me (email), that their supplier could not delivered other oil shocks for the moment (( I buy eight oil shocks )).. they offered me to repay me, and I have asked to wait one or two weeks, in case they receive a supply of (oil shocks) .. if that supply does not come (in a week or two), they would reimburse me the price of four shocks, .. after the refund, I will buy four other oil shocks, another company .. I would have preferred to have my eight oil shocks at the same time .. but life is beautiful even when :-)

I understand Smile
Also I guess hopefully better to have same type of 8 shocks.

Wonder if they can supply a weaker spring, or at least tell you if they have different springs. Like know what strength the yellows are might help you out. Those look allot like Traxxas shocks.

Wander why they show,,,Quantity:16 available Confused
99.3% positive on there feed back.
