Loulou. reverse the front tires. You should get better traction with the monster truck type flotation tires that way.
############################################

WAYNE S .. for tires, they all seem to have their tires as my LAND ROVER ..

##############################################

BLACK-CAB ... before
###############################################

I already reversed my tires, on BLACK-CAB, and the result was disastrous, BLACK-CAB .. after ..

he no longer had control over the rock, I viewed as the they were.

When you think WAYNE S..

I reverse .. yes / no :-)

Yes reverse the fronts and see how it does. Most r/c With your style flotation tires reverse the fronts.

On 1:1 scale monster trucks, the flotation tires were really the only option they had to run. The flotation tires started out as tires for farm equipment. Now Firestone and goodyear have tires specially made for monster trucks. They carve them depending on the terrain.

Look for r/c crawlers using same type tires as you have. For Instance, Mashers they run the front tires backwards.

Look at the bottom of the page for the way the front tires are setup.

it is best to reverse the tread pattern as wayne,s has said i use this and it does give much more gripp .also there are air holes already in the 1/6 rims you just need to take of the fake rock ring here are 2 pics from beqweels post

One day, someone showed me a glass of water that was half full. And he said, "Is it half full or half empty?" So I drank the water. No more problem. ~Alexander Jodorowsky.....

WAYNA S .. NAT .. THANK you for your advice and research ..

I will reverse my front tires .. as you say .. this is not a very difficult job .

I will remove a shock to every wheel ..

NAT .. I'll drill a few holes in the side of the rim (inside) .. I keep the fake rock ring ..

The result may be good for this LAND ROVER :-)

THANK ..

I remove a shocks on wheels ..

The body was lowered somewhat ..

I leave the central shock, it is very very soft, so it is not disturbing ..

Lou remember this is testing,, Do not watch the body so much. Look at the tires, Idea is to have the tires keeping contact with the ground.

You might find you can use one shock per side, Hobby grade after. Then when money is there buy another set so just acted like dampers.

If all testing, there is no change in the bounce.
Then it must be the tires are to rigged. Possibly ribs/knobs on tires are to stiff and acting like a bridge across the tire.

All test with springs will show what is going on

------------------------------------
Now!!!!!!!Your lucky, you have a camera that you can take vids of all test and compare them.

Me most of time at the track, drag racing, crewing cars, I have a split second to see what the suspension/tires are doing, Unless the owner of the car brings a vid camera with them. But most of the times they give it to their wives, up in the stands any way, so they have vidio of their car going down the trackConfused

Loulou I also wanted to leave central shocks but during going on the rock they broke.

WAYNE S ..
I ordered eight oil shocks of HONG KONG :-)

These shocks should be an adjustment, I should be able to adjust these oil shocks ..

I do not know how these shocks, as you an idea?

PS .. these tires would need a cut, they could be softer..
#############################################
PS ...
I have a little trouble looking in the viewfinder of the camera and monitored the LAND ROVER ..

loulou,
when you took off your shocks did you notice that they are not the same compound?
There is a strong one and a soft one. I put the soft ones all round on my rover and it was ok. I run the hobby grade oil ones on my crawler but for th speed of the rover I found the friction shocks not too bad.
I also reversed and cut my tires, it made tonnes of difference, I just ran around the tire with some sidecutters and created a tread pattern, it improved front tire grip greatly and softened the compound.
be careful not to go too deep!! I first tried to narrow the rims and tires on the 1:6 but I suck at that and the tire did not turn out so good.

I then adapted the 1:6 NYLINT wheels and tires by cutting the rim from the 1:6 mbright and screwing and epoxying the hub to the Nylint hub. This has worked great and is my chosen path for the crawler. the landrover does not need so much a soft compound unless you are going to slow it down and climb with it.

HAve you experienced the cutout on the speed controller? I first noticed mine when I attempted a slow climb of the rear wooded step at my place, it would gain traction then cutout due to resistance (heat)
