hi guys i was doing some research and found these on ebay they are from the henlong tank .i know cobra has experimented with the tamiya gearboxes without success .these are all metal gear and look to be very strong .from what i can see the motors look to be 280s and they are high tourqe .may be a idea for the 1/10 install . any how check them out ........... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1-16-HENG-LONG-SUPER-STRONG-REPLA...ksid=p3286.m14.l1318

One day, someone showed me a glass of water that was half full. And he said, "Is it half full or half empty?" So I drank the water. No more problem. ~Alexander Jodorowsky.....

hi ark not sure of the ratio but should be low as they are for the henglong tank . they seem to have much more power than the tamiya version .

Defineatly stronger than the Tamiya boxes. Cobras idea was excellent, too bad the gears could`nt handle the task.

I think Dhoom will get a gear set like this as well as some 280`s over the Winter. I keep stripping my rear Pinion, I`m on # 3 as off last week. The rig works very well but the gears dont seem up to the task when I get climbing the tough stuff. I get a few runs in and BOOM. I know that when I put a 280 under the Hood it will most likely break everything else.

i understand ark i think those cobra had were plastic gears .but i thought they would work .seems not .best to shop around for these ark i have come across a lot of different prices . but would be good for the 1/10 i think would take a lot of abuse the all metal gears .

HELLO .. NAT .. these gears box of metal, might be very good for the 1 / 10 .. my gears were plastic, in my ((WAR-TANK)) ..

And those of COBRA98 were also plastic ..

and I think it did not work .. these motors should be of 280, mine were of 280 .. it should be possible to set up in diffs, 1/10 .. it would work ..

The 280 are good motors .. stronger and more speed ..

SUPER-HEIGHT .. 280 motor .. pinion 10 tooth ..

These gears of metal, are really my taste :-)

of course the gearbox ratio will be changed once this gearbox is installed in the 1/10 due to tyres and pinion . but should work good . Big Grin

Gear reduction would be my only concern. The Henglong offers a 3:1 reduction ratio. That may be low enough for a one inch high Tank Track but most likely too high for a 5.5 inch Crawler Tire.

i see the ratio is 3.1 as you say ARK when the crawler wheel is installd this may be not low enough ratio .i will keep looking for more suitable .gear box that has the same strength. may be if i can find a large scale the ratio could work out . Smile
