hey,wayne i use castrol super clean to strip paint.it works great,no harsh fumes,haven't had any problems with it attacking lexan or plastic and doesn't leave a residue to cause problems with new paint sticking.

I've seen brake fluid do some drastic damage when spilled on car paint. I would never have tested it on plastic!! But then again, hydrochloric acid sounds mean but never touches or marks plastic so it makes sense!! good work
