... By not driving it in the water... Seriously... These are a toy grade r/c and I pondered the same thing myself. It would take quite an effort as the gearboxes only snap together, and the motors are pretty much wide open. There are a zillion places for water to get into where it shouldn't be. I've been driving mine in the snow, and then I simply drop it into the laundry tub for a couple hours to drip-dry. Not saying you can't waterproof it, maybe you can. But it would be a very extensive process that would require total disassembly, a fair bit of silicone, and some creativity. What're you planning on driving it in?

If it ain't broke, gimme a minute!

If it's a thick sticky mud, yer in business. If it's watery, good luck! "The wetter, the better" does not apply here. I was running yesterday in wet snow, about 35, 36 degreesF without any issues. I was caeful to stay out of any puddles more than an inch deep. Pretty sure I voided my warranty with the ol' sawzall Roll Eyes so I don't want to fry the electronics...

i hot glued the motor vent holes on mine to try and waterproof it. but it still fried when i took it in the water. i really showed it no mercy tho... i was rompin around in a deep pond with rocks for a good hour before it finally went out. i let it dry out for a couple days and its still not workin... loks like its time to retire the newbright or adopt my buddies newbright and start fresh with the knowlege i have gained from mine. either way i startewd on my maxx crawler! haha its gonna be sick

I'm glad I live in Arizona. Lots of rocks and not much water Smile I just need to be careful I don't run it into the swimming pool!

From my own experience what happens when you go into water is the pc board gets wet and fried. You have to water proof the board. You need a balloon strech it over top of the pc board. Then reconnect all the plugs (all the wires plug in) seal it as best as you can. Electical tape hot glue, remeber water will find it way in if you don't do a good job. As for the motors they can usally run fine underwater. I think cerberusZJ33 fried his pc board as it was not sealed. I've run many rc cars in water with no problems when its electronic are sealed. The motors can run under water.Perhaps the hot glue remelted when the motors heated up and melted into the motor its self. I wound not recomend sealing the motors.

There is a fine line between showing off and looking like an idiot.
