I've done a few mods to my New Bright RC. I've cut the tires. Removed 3 turns off the coils and the upper portions of the shocks. I also moved the top of the shocks inboard 1 inch. Then just for giggles I did some body mods. I removed both doors and the tail gate and filled the openings. I removed the fender flares, the bumpers and molded the diff guards to fit. I also had some fun painting my crawler.
It's been fun to goof around with but I think I may end up buying the 1/6th scale Nylint later. This thing is cool but, it's just not big enough to climb stairs or any real rocks. |

Your paint job looks good, esp the interior. If you want to climb stiars, though, you'd better get going on that Q-scale Powerwheels!
If it ain't broke, gimme a minute! |

Thanks but I wasn't too impressed with my paint job.
That's the problem with short wheelbases, they have problems with tall obstacles. RockCrawler.com should have held out for a 1/6 scale model with an actual low range. JMHO |

all you need to do is extend it by 3" and lift a bit, it crawls over just about anything!! it made the biggest difference of all the mods i have done.
DO IT!! |

I can honestly say thorne4200, you have way more time into yours than I do. I can get up on the bottom stair but then I get stuck. Both front and rear tires are hitting stairs and it can't make any forward progress. I don't know if I can justify 4 linking a toy right now, I have 2 fullsize projects I'm working on. Then again I do have a ton of small brass and aluminum tubing laying around......
watch492 I just drilled new, larger holes 1" in from the original mounts. I still need to lube them with grease or something. If you move the shock mounts you might want to cut holes in the bed under the phony diamond plate box |

i have a paralell 4 link with a single spring. "shocks" get in the way. i cut ALL of the small nobbies off. it is waaayyy softer!! it compresses when im climbing!! i extended it 4" moved the springs in the front 1" in and 1" back, it turns better ans has more clearance. also took off the "keepers" that were around the steering arm, it was rubbing so i took them off, instant steering. plus the 15 min charger from radio shack and the 2000mah from a hobbie shop that fits in the stock spot. next is the high tourqe servo and run over anything in my path!!! i went thu 6 different types of 4 link, all failed with my tough driving, this one works!!
