I saw that some of you run 4.0 throttle bodies on your 2.5 engines .Does it help out on the horse power.I have a 2.5 in my jeep and i could use a little more power to turn my 33-12.50 and 456 gears. I need feed back please.......................I want too put a stroker 4.0 and a ax-15 but cant afford it right now.

Wow, its been a long time since this was posted and no one here even bothered to answer.
I've never tried it, and since I've never owned a 4cyl jeep, there was no reason to. But basically I've also been a little afraid of aftermarket throttle body replacements because of where and how they make power. The idea is that the larger intake will allow the engine to produce more top end horsepower. But it does that by taking away some bottom end torque and power. Thats just the opposite of what most of us need. Unless you have great gearing that allows you to turn significantly more RPM at slow speeds, you're probably going to do more to hurt your performance than help it. Just the 4.56s probably won't be enough, you'll also need 4:1 or better transfer case gearing, too. Dick Burg Remember, if you're not in the lead, the view's always the same. |
