OK when climbing steep hills and such I loose power bad. RPM'S drop down below a thousand and of course I stop the climb. Also when it does die it acts like a craberated engine. It won't start and when it does low RPM's. So low that I have no brake pressure.I have a 4.0 in the beast. It frankly has me stumped.

have you checked your fuel pressure? your fuel pump might be going bad, or possibly your fuel filter could be clogged too.
