I was advised to move a question to here - sorry - a novice! I have a 1993 YJ Sahara lifted 4" with 12.5 X 35 tires. I bought the Jeep in Feb of this year and haven't worked on vehicles for sometime now. I know the speedo is 10 MPH slow at 65 MPH. I also know the current speedo gear is a 30 tooth gear (I don't know if it is a long shaft or short). I don't have the rear gear ratio - which I believe I need (thanks to another reader). I was hoping someone could tell me what tooth gear I need to get for the speedo in order to try and get close to actual MPH. Thanks

You will have the short speedo gear. Your spedo is electronic. You will probably need your gear raito to figure it out. Once you find out what gear raito you have, go here: http://www.raingler.com/tech/speedoChart.asp

I'm lookin into the ratio - sad thing is I may not be driving the jeep long with the gas prices in Illinois (but it could be worse - I could be in Louisianna). But THANKS!! for helping me out with a place to go - I do appreciate it.
