anyone done this or know anybody who has?
i want to use xj leafs because of the offset center pin to get some more wheelbase. What are the Actual measurments? Is the Eye 2 Eye close? I'm not worried about clearance because i my jeep is Comp cut in the rear, fenderless in front, and i have a fuel cell, Front steering can be fuggered out...

Some pictures would be GREAT!!!

Get some Wagoneer FRONT springs and use them all the way around, they are slightly longer, but you can get I think about 2in or so more wheelbase per axle with them.

OK ready... heres the lowdown...

XJ Rears are 6 inches longer(eye to eye) than Yj springs. Eye to center pin on one side is the same as a YJ and eye to pin on the other side is 6" longer. If you want to strecth your wheelbase 6", mount then in teh stock location and build a shackle mount out past your rear crossmember. I wouldnt recomend stretching your front end 6" because you will run into MAJOR steering issues. If you really want to put XJ rears in teh front of your YJ, more your frame mount back 4-6 inches. You can stretch it a little without any major difficulies, but not a full 6".

Remember, XJ springs are SUPER soft and sag out really fast. Buy an add a leaf for them to stiffen them up a little.

I am looking at installing a 3" lift XJ spring in teh rear of my YJ, but Im only going to strech the wheelbase 3". So I am removing the spring hanger all together and cutting the frame to flush mount the main eye into the frame... This will keep from getting such a high lift out of the spring. Its just an idea.

clemson, thanks that is just what i was looking for, my plans are xj in the rear wagoneer in the front, should end up with a 100" WB or so wich is excactly what i want. most likely i am going to use 2x4 square tube for extend the rear frame 4 inches which will allow for my rear winch and a more reasonable shackle angle
