hey guys need some help. ive got a '93 yj and am in the market for a set of "traction devices"
IE chains or studs. i have an extra set of wheels so if i got studs i could just put them on if i knew i was gonna go to the mountain or was gonna go over the pass. on the other hand if i get chains i wouldnt have to put them on untill i knew i needed them. how ever the locker likes to try and spin me. price is not a consideration b/c i have a friend with the studded tires that he is gonna give me for about the same price as getting a set of 4 quickfit chains. well now that i have given you too much info let me know what you guys would do and why. thanks |

I hope you know what a pain in the *** it is to chagne your tires that often. I would go for the chains because you can cary them with you and put them on only when needed. the way the roads are up there its etiher hit or miss with the snow on day roads will be covered and one day they won't. Thats a lot of tire changing. Chains seem like the more convient option to me unless you are going to run the studed tires allwinter long even with out snow on the ground.
