Although I'm a CJ owner I'll post this here also because the CJ board is pretty dead. What springs have you SOA guys used. I'm looking for 1-1.5" of lift to clear 36" Iroks. I can alter the frame spring hanger location but not the wheelbase. Any SOA advise would help anti-wrap bar design, perches etc.. pics?

I used stock YJ springs to get approximately 5 1/2" total lift. That should be enough to fit 36" tires. Maybe some fender trimming. After I turned the rears to S's with the stock ones, I put add a-leafs on them. They have lasted 3-4 years. They are stiffer though. The first set of stock YJ springs with a single traction bar only lasted a few months. You do need to use different bolts or hangers. Stock CJ will also work to get the lift.

My dads CJ is SOA with stock YJ springs but it sits low, about 3.5-4" lift MAX. I think this is becaus ethe leafs are extreamly saggy though. He's going to take out those leafs and try the leafs that came off my YJ, I think while we are at it Im going to cut the eyes off his current leafs and use the main leaf as an A-A-L...should work good. All we want to be able to clear a set of 36" Iroks also, so if that dosent work then I we are debating between RE 1.5" SOA leafs or Old Man Emu 2" leafs.

I use 1.5" Rubicon Express reverse eye springs.I clear 37's with EASE. My YJ also has a 1" body lift and moderately cut fenders with TJ flares. I can also max out 12" stroke shocks with this set up.

Thanks. Are you running the radials or bias? I'm debating between the radials on basset steel wheels and bias on Allied bead locks. My rig is pretty much off road only but I still drive it to the trails which can be as much as 100 miles each way. I don't know if bead locks and bias tires are that road friendly.

Whatever spring lift you end up using, use YJ springs on your CJ vs CJ lift springs. You will get a much smoother ride.

maybe this will help on your spring decision. Superlift is discontinuing their 1" YJ lift spring. The link is below... they have over 175 springs left last I checked at $47.19 a spring!

Great deal! I think it's only front springs. Could I use those on the rear of my CJ?

You can use them front and rear on your CJ... you will just need conversion shackles for your front end to go from a 2" spring to a 2.5" spring.... Or just compensate for that when doing a shackle reversal.
