The 4.3 in my 8 came out of a '93 S-10 Blazer 4WD. The p.o. did the install so I'm not much help there. He also swapped in a TH350, but I think some s-10's had the 700R4, not a bad tranny plus ya get overdrive. For cooling I use a stock jeep radiator and a 2 spd ford Taurus electric fan and have never had a cooling problem, even on 100* plus days. As far as a "turn key" application, good luck unless you spend the big $$ through a custom company, whatever donor you find make sure you can get the complete harness w/comp and accessories(starter, alternator, etc.)HTH

I'm very pleased with the torque and power, I've run 33's, 35's, 36's, 38's, and now 39.5's on the same motor and it's pulled all of them well. When I made the jump to 38's I re-geared to 5.13's also. There are times now when I'm really bound up on the rocks when there's almost not enough power to get it through, nothing that a 4-1 t-case won't fix though Cool For the type of wheelin I like, gearing is more important than hp. More power would just have me breakin' more stuff, lol.
In 6 years of running it I've never had an issue with my TH350 overheating, I've got it plumbed through the standard ports on the radiator and it goes through an external cooler as well. Haven't been on my lid yet so I don't know about leaking/flames..hopefully I won't find out either, lol.
