So im trying to swap in a sm465 into my 89 yj. The only company that makes this kit is Novak. (oh I have the 4 banger) So I ordered there kit. I am having tons of problems with it. First none of the bolts needed for anything are included. I was told I could use my prexisting bellhousng bolts.....not true. In fact nothing is reused but nothing is included..... There is no provition for the return spring on the clutch fork. I wound up drlling a small hole throught he rear of the bellhousing and another through the fork. The cluth fork was way to thick making the throwout bearing touch the clutch constantly. I had to gring the **** out of that and I still have yet to clear the clutch. Mad I was told I would need a mean green starter to work with this bellhousing so I wouldnt have to grind big pieces out of the bellhousing. That was also not true. After installing and removing the tranny 6-10 times and cutting the heak out of the belhousing It MAY finally fit. Mad Also the brackets for the flywheel sensor dont line up right allowing the sensor to contact the flywheel....... And to top it all off the adapter to hook up the clutch line was the wrong sizes. No bolts included with kit. Not even the 5 or 6 really small ones for the inspection cover. Oh yeah... which also doesnt fit. For almost $700 I would think this kit would include more/and or fit better. Anyone else have all these problems??? I thought Novak was a good company. At this pont with all the time and energy put into this I should have just made my own bellhousing. Probably would have been cheeper. Confused I think Im going to send them An email.
