Ok so here is the deal, just got a 88 yj with 82k original miles. It has the inline six and the god awful ba10/5. Well the tranny is screwed up, no tsure wat is wrong with it, it pops out of gear and clunks alot it really isnt driveable. But i got it for $1200 so who am i to complain! SO in time it will be a 383 stroker sm465 dana 300 driveline. BUt for now i need to be able to drive it like it is. My question is should i even take the time to pull this tranny apart and try to fix or should i try to find another ba 10/5 or what other trannys will bolt up to this. It will not be offroad so i dont really need a major upgrade since it will get a complete overhaul down the road. Im trying to spend the least amount of money possible, so if anyone has a ba 10/5 lying around or another tranny that will bolt up please send it my way!
