And the issue is the ports on the head are larger than the ports on the intake. In other words with the intake bolted up to the head there is about a 1/4 of each port in the head not covered by the intake.
I thought I could reuse my old intake or am I missing something obvious.

Help!

Never mind, figured it out myself. 4.2 intake goes above the pins on the 4.0 head not on them.

How hard was this? I am considering an 88 for a project and have heard bad stuff about doing this swap. Did you do EFI as well? How hard and how are the results? Thanks!
