I know this sounds kinda dorky, but I'm "considering" ditching my front buckets and going with a bench seat. I've installed a Poison Spyder Customs full cage in my YJ and the stock back seat ain't going back in. However, I have the need to haul two adults and a kid 6 year old) so this is where my question comes into play.

What will fit, look good and most of all be comfy? any suggestions?

Code,
I know it doesn't leave much room for tools, but how about a single bucket in the middle of the back. Is there enough headroom in the middle of that cage there ? I've been considering the same cage and will probably need room for a kids seat at some point.

Yea, I've considered this. The issue is the PSC cage has a crossbar between the two main down bars that blocks access to the rear area. I'd leave this tube out cept' I believe it add much needed rigidity to the structure. Plus, I'm considering making my YJ a half cab.

It is all just random thoughts at this time. I appreciate all input, however.

I think newer Ford Rangers come with a bench seat on the basic modles and Rangers are about the same width so It might fit good. Reasion I bring up the Randger is because I think the bench seat has a center console that folds down when middle seating area is not being used so it wuldent look as goofy all the time Wink

Check out E-bay. From time to time there are front bench seats from a scrambler on there. This is the perfect fit and even factory.

You might want to go over to the Scrambler board and see what is for sale there. You could find a half cab hard-top, or maybe even a old soft top that you could use.

There are some pretty helpful folks ther if you were to post what you wanted in the parts wanted area.

What about the 60/40 bench seats like in the newer Dodge trucks? I know a guy that just put one in his old Chevy K5, and loves it.
