Just had an issue with my 06 Dodge Ram 2500, Cummins Diesel. I bought the Bully Dog Triple Dog downloader about 8 months ago. I've never run anything but the Tow/Economy or Stock setting because I'm not set up to measure EGT's yet. A couple of days ago, the truck, which had been running great, just died. The short story is that the computer lost its memory, and the dealer (not in my home town) has been unable to reflash it. Bad news is that the warranty won't cover a replacement computer. Cost for the new one is $1,800 + install. Worse news is that Daimler-Chrysler will void the warranty on my 10 month old truck.
I've owned four Dodge Trucks (94 Cummins, 96 V-10, 98 Cummins, 06 Cummins). Three of the four of those trucks have left me stranded in distant cities because of problems. 4 days in Boise because the 94 had a cracked fuel filter. The V10 stranded me in Branson, Missouri for 8 days because it ate a valve. And, now, this issue with the '06. I consider myself a Dodge fan, too.
Bottom line, if you want a high-performing diesel truck and you want to enhance its performance even further -- Don't buy a Dodge, and don't buy a Bully Dog. You won't have this warranty problem with a Ford or GM.
