Now I would like to know from you guys, would it be a good thing to fit a detoit locker in the rear diff, remember these lockers work by themselves when one of the wheels spins faster than the other, they do not have a cable or electric or vacumn or air operation to activate them or switch them off. I have heard that if I fit a locker in the rear I will be looking for trouble, it may cause a crabbing effect, make cornering difficult and be a waste of money. If any of you guys wish to see some pic's of my bakkie then please email me at Nomad@xsinet.co.za Real cool pic's. Thankyou |

First off, where are you and what do you drive on? A rear Detroit can be bad juju when driven on icy roads. With practice, that isn't even so bad either. In most other situations a rear Detroit is a good thing. Just don't go applying massive amounts of power around a corner on loose ground, especially at speed.
edit- I just saw where you are from another post. Welcome. I don't imagine ice and snow would be much of an issue but loose dirt roads would be. I'd get the locker and then take it out somewhere and see how it reacts in certain situations. Once you learn how it will act, you know how you need to act.
