Not really that much of an upgrade. There is actually debate as to whether it is an upgrade at all.

possibly my ax 15 is shot! its my 2nd one and the nv3550 seems like a step up. at least everyone on pirate, jp forum seems to believe its better than the 89-99 model ax15. ive found one locally for 650 if in fact my ax has taken another crappo... i'll find out sunday after i put my second new clutch in.
