My husband recently bought a 98 Sahara that has all kinds of bells and whistles that I couldn't begin to explain Roll Eyes Something he has mentioned wanting/needing (is there a difference?) to pick up is a good reference book so that he can do a lot of the maintenance himself. When he said it, our 2 year old son ran and got him one of his Arthur the Aardvark books Big Grin After I explained to him that that wasn't exactly the right book, he now wants to get daddy a Jeep Book for Christmas. Can anyone point me to the best all around reference book so that we can surprise him?

Thanks!

The stock jeep maintenance manual is a must if you are going to do alot
of maintenance - the other is not a book - but the internet - just look
up the type of maintenance issue that you are going to tackle and see
the pictures and the tools that someone else used to fix the problem.

If you are into basics the the Jeep Bible - that you see at most
offroad stores is a good starting place.

The problem with offroading is that we all have jeeps that are a little
different - different lifts - and different objectives - so you have to
tailor the info you get with RE-AL-ITY.

I have two 98(s) - an the bells and whistles are really small compared to
some cars - I find my Honda - almost un-repairable sometimes. Just too much
stuff.

Once you have a car with a computer you either have to play in computer land
and get a code reader/programmer or find someone who does...
