What is special about unlimited models? I know the rubicons are built stronger so thats ideal for what i would be looking for but like to know the ins and outs on the different version offered. I want to get a jeep either a cj,yj,or tj model. I want one just for weekend driving and off road. I want a 4.0L HO 6cyl minimum but probably plan on a 350 motor in one later. I read little about the nv4500 which sounds like something I would want but for now a 5 speed manual would do the job. I will build/upgrade as I go. I have not road in a TJ, just in a 84 cj-7 and a 93 yj leaning more towards new models due to interior looks. AC be good to have but don't a big deal. I never been fond of square headlights in the yj's. I'm not sure what ball park price I will be spending yet up front but looking at getting something in a couple months. I would like to start out if at all possible with d44's minimum and I know some had lockers from the factory. What body styles from cj and up had the bigger bodies/ more room inside the cab? I like manuals so don't want know automatic. I like the interior of the 90's and up but don't know whats the good years or models to pick from as far as interior goes. I do like the wet seats i seen offered though on some 90's rubicons. I guess Some look small and skinny and others look big and wider. I like big and wide, lol on a jeep. I got some time to shop and don't know what I will find and I don't mind a hard top but prefer hardtop and soft top combo if possible if not then a soft top model will do. I read tj 98-2002,yj 92-95, and 79 and above in cj-7 or 8 are the more popular yrs. i know the tj has the coil springs and post to ride better than the older models. I like the carpeted floor but can go with bedliner floor. Longs its got room for a 350 later if I choose to do so. The roomer the body size the better just don't know what models compare to each other in that regard. Based on this what would you recommend? I like to find a body thats not rusted out at all. I'm not sure if there is one body style to fit all this, lol but maybe 2 body styles at least narrow it down so fire away what you recommend!

If you are handy with tools you can build what ever kind of jeep you want - and change it later as your experience grows or your need change.

I switched to the 98 TJ for the coil over suspention and the AC, I do neeed it, and now that
I need a bigger vehicle I am getting a longer LJ frame.

As fuel becomes a bigger issue I am considering a diesel engine swap along with a four speed t-case for better fuel milage.
